📌 When: Dé Céadaoin, an 10 Meitheamh/June 2026, 19.00 go 19:45.

🎒 Back to School Clothing and Footwear Allowance 2026
Did you know?
The Back to School Clothing and Footwear Allowance is now open, and for the first time, eligible children aged 2 and 3 are now included.
This year the payment is:
👟 €160 for eligible children aged 2 to 11
📚 €285 for eligible children aged 12 to 22
The scheme opened on 3 June 2026 and applications close on 30 September 2026. Many families will receive the payment automatically, but if you do not receive a notification and think you may qualify, you can apply through MyWelfare.

The move from preschool to primary school is one of the most significant milestones in a child’s early years, for children and parents alike.

Children don’t arrive at primary school as blank slates. They bring with them the learning, confidence, relationships and skills they’ve already developed through their Early Years experience. This transition is about building on those strong foundations, not starting from scratch.

International Day of Play
Participating in the National Childhood Network’s "Stay and Play" session for International Day of Play is an incredible opportunity for early years settings to champion every child's fundamental right to play. By opening your doors to families, you directly build vital partnerships between parents and practitioners while fostering a welcoming sense of community belonging. This global event promotes the theme "Protect Play, Protect Childhood", highlighting how unstructured, child-led learning acts as the cornerstone for cognitive, physical, and socio-emotional growth. Gaeloideachas are hosting a free webinar this evening for parents with children who are starting in a naíonra for the first time. It will be facilitated through English.
📌 When: Dé Céadaoin, an 10 Meitheamh/June 2026, 19.00 go 19:45.
Tune in and listen to the guest speaker, Jane Ní Chonchúir, manager in Naíonra Lios na nÓg (Baile Átha Cliath), share information on the naíonra, how they work, common questions parents have and more. The guest speaker will speak in general terms about all naíonraí, and this seminar has no affiliation with any particular naíonra.

International Day of Play takes place annually on 11 June and serves as a reminder of the importance of protecting every child’s right to play. 🎒 Back to School Clothing and Footwear Allowance 2026
Did you know?
The Back to School Clothing and Footwear Allowance is now open, and for the first time, eligible children aged 2 and 3 are now included.
This year the payment is:
👟 €160 for eligible children aged 2 to 11
📚 €285 for eligible children aged 12 to 22
The scheme opened on 3 June 2026 and applications close on 30 September 2026. Many families will receive the payment automatically, but if you do not receive a notification and think you may qualify, you can apply through MyWelfare.

The move from preschool to primary school is one of the most significant milestones in a child’s early years, for children and parents alike.

Children don’t arrive at primary school as blank slates. They bring with them the learning, confidence, relationships and skills they’ve already developed through their Early Years experience. This transition is about building on those strong foundations, not starting from scratch.

To support parents and childcare providers during this important time, the 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹 (#𝗡𝗣𝗖) is offering 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 during the week of 𝟭𝟱 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲.
