The following Parenting Kerry Learning pages provide information on current Parenting and Family Learning courses and resources for the benefit of parents, professionals and others. The information is presented in age appropriate format which we hope you will find easy to use.
Parenting is one of the most demanding and rewarding roles we ever undertake in our lives. It can be a tough job, and most of us parents are grateful for all the help and support we can get. Our children grow and develop through many different stages and we are constantly challenged to move with them.
Both Parenting & Family Learning share common ground in that both approaches aim to develop parents’ confidence, attitudes and skills to support their children on their journey through life. However, each programme focuses on different aspects of the child’s growth and development. Parenting could be said to focus on emotional and behavioural issues, while family learning focuses more on cognitive development. Both programmes provide valuable learning opportunities for parents.
Seminars, talks and courses are one way of learning, of keeping up with new trends and of exchanging thoughts and ideas with other parents.
