Under the Early Years Services Regulations all staff members must hold a recognised minimum qualification at QQI level 5 or above. The DCEDIY recognised qualifications list is the most comprehensive list currently available at DCEDIY Early Years Recognised Qualifications)

Garda Vetting in Early Years Services.

Garda Vetting is a legal requirement for anyone undertaking “relevant work or activity”, as defined in the National Vetting Bureau (Children And Vulnerable Persons) Act 2012. The Act also creates offences and penalties for persons who fail to comply with its provisions.

The Barnardos’ Vetting Service can process your vetting applications for all categories of Early Years Services.

We can also process vetting applications for self-employed Childminders.

There is no fee for Early Years Services or Childminders for using this service.

Creche Room Leader – Shanakill Wise Owl

We are recruiting a Creche Room Leader to work in the toddler room with children aged 1 – 3 years.

Salary – 16-18 euro per hour depending on experience and qualifications.

 Candidate Requirements for Room Leader:

  • Candidates must have at least 2 year of experience.

Essential skills/qualifications

  • A professional qualification in childcare is essential. A major award in Childcare/Early Education at a minimum of Level 6 on the National Framework of Qualifications  or an equivalent nationally recognised qualification /Higher Education Award in the Childcare/Early Years Education field.

Early Years Educator

Bellview Woods Childcare are currently recruiting experienced Early Years Educator’s to join our fantastic team based in Killarney, Co. Kerry, Ireland.

Positions: Full time

Working hours: 30 to 40 hours per week – Crèche opening hours are from 7.45am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, 52 weeks of the year. Shifts vary from week to week.

The successful applicants will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • All aspects of the care and education of the children in Bellview Woods Childcare
  • Coordinating and implementing indoor and outdoor play activities, arts & crafts with all children
  • Positive interactions with the children at all times, not just supervision
  • Ensuring the overall safety and well being of the children
  • To co-operate with TUSLA Early Years Inspectors and health board inspections.

  • To work as part of a team and liaise with other team members
  • To report all areas of concern to the manager

Qualifications and Requirements

  • All applicants must have minimum QQI / FETAC Level 5 or higher and be eligible to work full time in Ireland. All other qualifications must be recognized by the DCYA.
  • We are eager to find a candidate with a genuine passion towards Early Years. The perfect candidate would be hardworking, ambitious, creative and a real team player
  • Additional experience and qualifications are highly desirable. Garda Vetting (and international police clearance if having lived outside of Ireland for more than 6 months) will also be required
